"I've dedicated my career to supporting Veterans from all branches of out U.S. Military after serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. in Vietnam (WESPAC). Many Vietnam Veterans enjoy life with their families today, thanks to life-saving medical services Veterans of our U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. performed upon their return. I appreciate meeting U.S. PHSCC Veteran Dr. Sanford S. Davidson. I hope our communities remain inspired to learn more about our U.S. Military achievements at home and abroad, and defend the leadership values of military experience from political exploitation."

"Palos Verdes Estates is our home...

I want to uphold our founding fathers' vision."

My name is Sanford (Sandy) Davidson. I grew up in the Bronx, NY and attended NYU for my undergraduate degree. I majored in British Literature. After college I attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. I then spent two years in the United States Public Health Service caring for injured war heroes where I became a Veteran. Following my time in the USPHS I was accepted to the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in NYC where I was chosen to be Chief Resident my last year. We greatly appreciated our Veteran's benefits. I came to California following Residency and started an Ophthalmogy practice in Riviera Village where I still work.

I am married to Joan Davidson who served on the PVPUSD Board for 8 years. I have three children who are PVPUSD graduates, and two grandchildren who are current PVPUSD students. My oldest Lisa who is a college professor in Cambridge, Massachussetts. My middle child is Joshua who is a Board Certified Pediatric Allergist practicing in Redondo Beach. My youngest is Alex who is a journalist. I have 6 wonderful grandchildren who are healthy and happy.

Embracing the past & securing our future

Having served almost 4 years on 2 City Councils my experience is essential. PVE is critically under staffed and under experienced. My medical training taught me to keep confidences sacred, act quickly and decisively in emergencies, maintain sensibility in critical moments, and be compassionate yet strong. I will keep PVE safe, rural, healthy and fiscally strong.
